When we aren’t busy running lessons for young swimmers or conducting our community programs we open our pool up for the public to use.

We also boast one of Albury and Wodonga’s only hydrotherapy pools. Read more about what we offer below!

AQUA AEROBICS

Water or Aqua Aerobics can be beneficial for many people. Whether you are young and old, with or without physical/medical conditions, the buoyancy of the water accommodates everyone. Water cushions stiff and painful joints or fragile bones that may be further injured by the impact of land aerobics, so Aqua Aerobics is perfect for anyone!

This low impact exercise is great for anyone of any fitness level.
Whilst no form of exercise is perfect for everyone, Aqua Aerobics
comes close by conforming to individual needs, restrictions and abilities.
With the assistance of our experienced instructors, the size and speed
of exercises can be changed to suit your individual level of fitness or physical needs.

Simply put, Aqua Aerobics can give you a great cardiovascular workout. By gently increasing your pulse and breathing, you improve your fitness and health. It also helps strengthen and tone muscles. The resistance of the waters means muscle groups are evenly worked as you push and pull against the water, gently warming then working muscles.

Most importantly, Aqua Aerobics is a stress reliever!
The water adds slight compression as well as gently
massaging you, giving a weightless sensation and sense of
well-being. Its feel good factor is supported by a wonderful, social, fun environment.

CASUAL SWIMMING

The benefits of swimming are vast, but chances are it's probably not as regular a part of your workout routine as, say, strength training. As is always said, the workout you enjoy is the one you should do, so if it's not for you then don't force it, but if swimming is something you like but often put off then you should probably read this.

There are more benefits to swimming than just the perceived normal health benefits of any exercise.

Regular pool attendance could make you smarter, improve your mental health and enhance your lung capacity, and that's not all. According to the NHS, adding a weekly swim workout to your training plan can reduce the risk of chronic illnesses, such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes and strokes.

You can also expect full-body toning and improved stamina, which translates nicely into improved overall fitness levels and capabilities. Cross-training (exercising in different ways) is a fantastic way to improve your overall fitness.

HYDROTHERAPY

SwimTech Albury boasts one of the only hydro pools in Albury-Wodonga.

The Hydrotherapy pool is open for personal use throughout the day and can be utilised for injury rehabilitation and recovery from sporting activities.

Hydrotherapy works off the following 3 principals:

  1. The water is heated to approximately 33 degrees which aids muscle relaxation and helps to reduce stiffness.

  2. Equipment i.e. noodles, kick-boards and water weights are used to perform tailored exercises that can be progressed as you get stronger and closer to injury free.

  3. The waters buoyancy helps to counteract gravity’s effect reducing the load through your muscles and joint capsules, making rehabilitation easier.

In conjunction with local physiotherapy groups multiple hydrotherapy sessions are held at SwimTech Albury each week. We also offer Aqua Aerobics programs which you can find more information on above (if you haven’t already read it!)

SCHOOL PROGRAMS

We can offer tailored programs to meet the needs of your school curriculum and year level.

These lessons develop your students swimming abilities through numerous drills, games and exercises. Throughout this process we will instill a sense of aquatic safety and respect for the environment around them. These programs are carried out by our accredited staff who have years of experience teaching large groups.
